Young Chess Stars Unite!

Calling all young chess enthusiasts! The Kitchener Waterloo Chess Club’s Youth Membership is designed for players 17 and under, offering an exciting and affordable way to connect with fellow chess lovers and take your game to the next level. The KWCC is one of the largest and most active chess clubs in Canada, with a 30+ year history. We are a not-for-profit, member-based organization that promotes the game of chess.

Benefits:

• Connect and Compete: Join a vibrant community of young chess players, participate in discounted tournaments, and challenge yourself against other youth.
• Multiple Time Formats: Blitz (5 min + 2 sec delay), Rapid (25 min + 5 sec delay), or Classical (50 min + 20 sec delay) formats.
• Reduced Tournament Fees: Classical and Rapid Tournaments are $20 per tournament or $10 for KWCC members.
• Rated Tournaments: All Classical and Rapid tournaments are rated by the Chess Federation of Canada and hence require CFC membership.
• Fair Play: Players play a Swiss Style Tournament in which players play each round. There is no “knock-out”. The Swiss system pyramids to determine a winner but matches players of similar scores and strength.
• Support Local Chess: Contribute to the growth and development of chess in Kitchener-Waterloo.
